TRN (Tax Registration Number)
Also calledTax registration numberVAT number
A TRN is the 15-digit number the FTA issues to a business when it registers for VAT, and it must appear on every tax invoice the business issues.
The TRN identifies the business to the FTA. A tax invoice shows the seller’s TRN, and invoices to other registered businesses also show the buyer’s TRN.
Worth knowing
- Store your customers’ TRNs on their records; e-invoicing depends on them being right.
- A business with branches in several emirates normally uses one TRN for all of them.
- You can check a TRN on the FTA’s website.
