Modifiers

Modifiers are the options a customer adds to an item at the moment of ordering, such as “no onion”, “extra cheese” or “well done”, each with its own price, kitchen note and effect on stock.

Each item lists the groups of options it offers, such as cooking temperature, sides or sauces, and whether a choice is required. The chosen options travel with the order line to the kitchen screen and the receipt.

Worth knowing

• Instruction-only options (no onion) change neither the price nor the stock; they only reach the kitchen.
• Priced options (extra cheese) change the line total and can take extra ingredients out of stock.
• Keep option groups flat: an option that opens another list of options slows down the till.
